Alice Through the Looking Glass Teaser Trailer now Out

I could be one of those few who actually like Alice in Wonderland when it came out in the theaters five years ago. Because of the mix to bad feedbacks, I really thought Disney scrapped the idea of making it a franchise. Good thing now I don't need to worry about it because the follow up is finally here. Alice in Wonderland Beats Avatar with $116M vs $77M

Philippine audiences headed down the rabbit hole this weekend, as Disney’s “Alice in Wonderland” opened at No. 1 with a nationwide gross of an amazing P47.930-million in 144 screens for the March 4-7 frame. This was announced March 8 by Victor R. Cabrera, managing director of Walt Disney Studios which locally distributed the film.

Hello everyone, at last I'm back again.  I just want to extend my deepest apology to everyone who reads my blog.  I'm late again.  Sometimes day job really gets in to my nerves that I can't hardly concentrate on writing decent reviews.  But enough of those non sense.  What is important is I'm back and I will be reviewing this month's movie event: Alice in Wonderland.

Alice Kingsleigh (Mia Wasikowska), is a girl who just turned 19 who doesn't fit in the Victorian Society in terms of character and manner.  One day after her boyfriend Hamish (Leo Bill) proposed to him in front of the high society, Alice ran away on pursuit of a White rabbit.   She then found a Rabbit hole on an old tree.  Assuming that the white rabbit is inside, Alice bend over to look.  But Alice fell on the hole and transported to an enchanted place she only knew on her dreams.  But little thing she know, this is actually her second coming in this strange land.

Disney’s 3D epic fantasy adventure “Alice in Wonderland” marks the seventh collaboration between Tim Burton and Johnny Depp since they first worked together on “Edward Scissorhands.”

“It’s amazing,” says Depp, “having worked with Tim coming up on 20 years, I’ve had the opportunity to see him grow. He’s so unique and so special and such a brilliant filmmaker. Anything Tim wants me to do is a real honor.”

All Hail the Red Queen: Helena Bonham Carter

Helena Bonham Carter stars as the Red Queen in Tim Burton's epic 3D fantasy adventure “Alice in Wonderland.” Iracebeth, the Red Queen is the tyrannical monarch of Underland. With her oversized head, fiery temper and propensity to scream for people’s heads to be chopped off, she rules her subjects through fear. “She’s got emotional problems,” says Bonham Carter. “It takes nothing, practically, for her to lose her temper. Her tantrums are that of a two-year-old.” Her younger sibling, the White Queen, has designs on the throne and crown that Iracebeth once stole from her.

Burton's Alice in Wonderland is a Sequel

To those who are very excited of the upcoming Tim Burton flick Alice in Wonderland, here is a scoop I just got from firstshowing.net. It seems that this version of Alice in Wonderland is a direct sequel of 1951 Disney animated movie. And it is also revealed that Anne Hathaway's character the White Queen is not really included in the original book.

"The White Queen doesn't appear in Lewis Carroll's original Alice in Wonderland book, rather the sequel Through The Looking Glass, as a chess piece instead. While she is an ally of Alice, she seems to be living her life backwards, and is a little bit odd, to say the least. Burton's Alice in Wonderland is somewhat of a sequel to the Disney movie from 1951, with Alice returning to Wonderland without any memory of her first visit."

With this new development, I admit I become more interested on this flick. Also adding up to the reasons of watching it is having Tim Burton as Director plus a stellar cast that includes Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter and Anne Hathaway. This movie will surely bring our wildest fantasy in to life. Alice in Wonderland will premiere next year March 5, 2010 on digital 3D and 2D theaters worldwide.

Freaky Promo Photos of the Mad Hatter, White Queen and Red Queen

Everyone is so excited with Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland and we do have seen Johnny Depp as the Mad hatter before. But I didn't know that USA Today released 3 official promo photos of the 3 main characters of the film namely Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter, Anne Hathaway as the White Queen and Helena Bonham Carter.





The designs are freaky. But in a good way. We really know how Tim Burton visualize such concepts and he really likes to play the idea and hardly stay on the conventional. With eyes like that of the Mad Hatter, White Apparition persona of the White Queen and Ghastly form of the Red Queen, the movie will surely give nightmares to most kids (including some adults). But with this development, I'm quite sure that Tim Burton is into one of a hell movie.

Alice in Wonderland is set to premiere next year March 5, 2010 under Walt Disney Pictures and Touchstone Pictures.
