We are invited last June 7, 2009 by Egames Philippines to witness the Audition Celebrity Dance Battle at SOP GMA 7. We are early in the venue and got to meet some of our fellow bloggers and media people. Chanty our contact introduced me to Justin Bonilla of Dominguez Marketing Communication and Jason Tomas, Product Manager and judge of Audition Celebrity Dance Battle. Jason is happy to chat with us before the show starts explaining how the contest goes.
Basically the battle starts last month when a segment in SOP is proposed which is adapted from an online game. Because of its unique quality and the fact that this is the first in Television, SOP management agreed with the segment thus creating The Audition Celebrity Dance Battle. Four pairs are chosen to compete. The Audistas includes Vaness Del Moral paired with Dominic Roco; Ryza Cenon and Rainier Castillo; Yasmien Kurdi joined with Survivor Philippines first Ultimate Sole Survivor JC Tiuseco; and lastly Chynna Ortaleza and the bad boy of dance floor Mark Herras.
Every pair undergoes training under well named dance choreographers who also provided all their dance moves that they used every week. And after 3 weeks of battle it is down to two pairs. Ryza and Rainier against Chynna and Mark.
It was a tough battle between the two pairs. Though we know Mark is a more experienced dancer, Rainier did his homework and did pretty well than expected. On the other hand the ladies is almost at the same drive unleashing their dancing prowess on the stage. So after minutes of dance battle the winners are chosen.

ACDB group:After 4 weeks of battling it out on the hottest dance craze in television, the pair of Mark Herras and Chynna Ortaleza bested other Kapuso stars and was named the grand champion of Audition Celebrity Dance Battle. The winning pair received the title “Ultimate Celebrity Audista” and P100,000 cash, 50% of which will be donated to their charity partner.

“Being part of the finals was very fulfilling. We’re really happy because we were able to keep our promise to our charity family, and we didn’t disappoint followers of the segment. We’re thankful to X-Play, GMA-NMI, and GMA7 for giving us a chance to be part of Audition Celebrity Dance Battle,” says Mark Herras.
“This is our first time to compete in a dance contest for a worthy cause. We did all that we can to win, because seriously, our inspiration has been our beneficiary family,” says Chynna.
