Tribute for the Master Rapper

I thought it was just an ordinary Friday but the whole country and even the world are shocked that our Master Rapper Francis Magalona passed away on age 44 due to Leukemia. Everybody don't expect to get the said news since everybody thought that he is doing well with his Chemo theraphy.

But after several news scanning and an official announcement in Eat Bulaga. It is confirmed, the Philippines' premiere Master Rapper passed away. Family, friends, co-workers in industry, as well as fans and people not directly related to Francis are all devastated by the news.

Now his remains lie in Christ the King Chapel in Quezon City where fans can pay their last respect for him. After 6pm it is the artist's close friends, co-workers, family and relative's turn to pay respect for Francis. Together with a close friend of Francis, I got the chance to see Francis for the last time. Just like what everybody says, "Parang natutulog lang, siya", just like an enchanted creature that he played way back in 1992 in the movie "Engkanto", Francis will stay alive through ages from his music, students and family.

As a legacy, The President announced that Francis will receive a posthumous Presidential Medal of Merit for promoting patriotism through music. This is with the blessing of the Executive Director of National Commission of Culture and the Arts, Cecile Guidote-Alvarezand to be given immediately to the family as soon as it is approved.

Now Maxene just announced that she will continue his Father's Sicko Project with the help of Ely Buendia and an upcoming documentary will be produced that will document Francis' battle with Cancer.

Words are not enough to say how we all felt on this big lost. I'm just glad he is already on peace and free of pain.

Till next time Francis.
