Not really a big fan of Hitchcock but I become very interested with his works when I saw The 39 Steps play. From that show, I learned why people like his films. His unique approach in film making and his strange visions of suspense thriller is an absolute imagery of intellect and art. Of course who would forget one of his most critically acclaimed masterpiece that went on a bang when it comes out in the public in the 60's. Though the film receives mixed reviews, Psycho still becomes an instant cult classic worshiped by (some) film enthusiasts. But this post is not about that movie. This is all about Hitchcock himself as he go center stage on his own film as portrayed by Sir Anthony Hopkins.
Sir Anthony Hopkins stars in the film, formerly known as "Alfred Hitchock And The Making Of Psycho," touted as a biographical comedy-drama that presents a behind-the-scenes look at the film, which was marred with controversy due to complaints about violence, nudity and other sexual content and claims that a body double was used in Leigh's place during the shower murder scene. It will also focus on Hitchcock's relationship with his wife Alma Reville, played by Dame Helen Mirren. The "Hitchcock" plot follows the troubled financing of Psycho," the directors battles with Hollywood censors and Hitchcocks desire to prove to his doubters, his wife and himself that he still had an edge.

This is definitely a must watch even to somebody like me who has few or even without any knowledge of Hitchcock. Maybe this film can make anyone learn a thing or two about him. Plus we got to enjoy a film with a good set of cast of course including Sir Anthony Hopkins, Helen Mirren, Jessica Biel, Scarlett Johansson, Toni Collete and whole lot more.
To be directed by Sacha Gervasi, Hitchcock is on a limited release in US on November 23, 2012.
