Solar UIP Announces 2013 First Half Lineup of Movies



Are you ready for 2013? Well it may sound very early but I guess most of you will want to know the partial movie list for the coming New Year. Solar Entertainment and United International Pictures released their preliminary movie hit list for the year 2013. And believe me, I know you will definitely like it.

Jack Reacher - January 8, 2013
Previously titled One Shot, Jack Reacher stars Tom Cruise (MI:Ghost Protocol) on an action packed mystery flick about a murder investigation. 5 dead, suspect beaten in to a pulp to the extent that he can't remember everythign that happened. Now it is on Jack's hand to find out the truth and solve the case.

Les Miserables - January 16, 2013
The Legendary musical based on the legendary novel by Victor Hugo comes alive in the silver screen as characters such as Jean Valjean (Hugh Jackman), Fantine (Anne Hathaway), Javert (Russel Crowe), Cosette (Amanda Seyfried), Samantha Barks (Eponine) and a whole lot more are immortalized outside the stages of Broadway and West End. Directed by Tom Hooper (The King's Speech), a definite must watch for musical theater lovers.

Hansel and Gretel - January 23, 2013
They survived the kidnapping and they grew as strong and courageous young man and woman. Now sworn to hunt those responsible to their childhood nightmares, are Hansel (Jeremy Renner) and Gretel Gemma Arterton) prepared to know the truth about them?

Man with an Iron Fist - January 30, 2013
A martial arts film written and directed by RZA. Set in 19th century China, the film chronicles the story of a Blacksmith (RZA) who is forced to protect his village against a traitor. The movie features an extensive cast that includes Russell Crowe, Cung Le, Lucy Liu, Byron Mann, RZA, Rick Yune, David Bautista, and Jamie Chung. The movie is also blessed by Tarantino who helped to score the film.

Flight - February 13, 2013
A mystery drama starring Denzel Washington that tells a story of a flight incident when the aircraft needs to do a death defying emergency landing. Captain William Whitaker (Washington) successfully lands the plane and instantly declared as a hero. But everything turns upside down when someone discovered that he is in the influence of alcohol during the flight which is an offense that will not only revoke his license but it can put him behind bars.

A comedy set as a spin-off of Knocked up now centered on the characters of Pete and Debbie while struggling to cope with midlife crisis. Starring Paul Rudd, Leslie Mann, Melissa McCarthy, Megan Fox and more.

Cirque du Soleil is back with another enchanting performance know straight to the big screen and on 3D.

Identity Thief - March 6, 2013
A comedy about a man named Sandy (Jason Bateman) who's identity is stolen by a woman named Diana (Melissa McCarthy). Now it is a total chaos as Sandy went on a wild chase to reclaim his stolen identity.

GI Joe: Retalliation - March 30, 2013
At last. after being postponed this year. GI Joe: Retallation is definitely a go in 2013.

Jurassic Park 3D - April 3, 2013
A classic is back on the big screen and now digitally enhanced and converted to 3D. Spielberg's dino masterpiece returns and they are as hungry and angry as before.

Oblivion - April 18, 2013
A court martial sends a veteran soldier to a distant planet, where he has to destroy the remains of an alien race. World War Z - June 20, 2013
A zombie apocalypse film based on a novel with the same name that star Brad Pitt as a U.N. employee Gerry Lane as he tries to stop a global spread of a zombie pandemic. Can he defy the odds and stop it or it is inevitable.

Kick-ass 2 - June 26, 2013
Sequel to the awesome first installment last 2010 is back with a vengeance. Kick-ass (Aaron Johnson) and Hit-girl (Chloe Moretz) returns with more vigilantes coming including Jim Carrey as Colonel Stars.

Despicable Me 2 - July 3, 2013
The cute but sometimes annoying minions are back, and so as Gru (Steve Carell) as he goes head to head on his new nemesis to be voiced by Al Pacino.

R.I.P.D. - July 17, 2013
A cop is killed but mysteriously didn't die is now teaming up with fellow undead officers as they find out who killed him.

Not a bad lineup there. Good to see that Solar is having tons of movies just in the first half of the year. I guess it is really not a big deal that Dreamworks Animations are now with 20th Century Fox because this list is packed with interesting films worth checking put. Personally I'm so excited with Les Miserables, GI Joe: Retaliation, Hansel and Gretel, Kick-ass 2 and Despicable Me 2. But some movies that I haven't heard before caught my attention now like Identity Thief and Oblivion. Looking forward to see all of them next year. How about you?
