The Avengers Teaser Trailer may Premiere with Captain America

Earlier I reported that some critics saw advance screenings of Captain America wherein they didn't see any after credits scene.  But after the press questioned producer Kevin Feige, he gave a hint that there is indeed an after credits but not shown on that screening.  So we are left with the assumption that its either Feige is telling the truth or there's really no after credits at all.  To confirm my facts, i started digging for other news and good enough I just got the answer I'm looking for.

Now, is there really an after credits scene?  Well the answer is either Yes or No.  Yes there is something after the the credits of Captain America: The First Avenger but No it is not an after credits scene but rather a teaser trailer. And you guess it right, it is the teaser trailer for the upcoming Marvel comics movie crossover event: The Avengers.  Here is a complete description of the trailer by comicbookmovie.com:

Now for the after-credits it's not a scene, it's a trailer for Avengers. It does not show much and its more screen flashes then anything else. It starts with Chris Evans punching a bag in the gym and eventually punches the bag so hard it breaks. Nick Fury walks in and asks him “If he is having trouble sleeping and tells him he has a mission for him. The screen says Next Summer. It shows quick shots of the the Avengers in costume around (with the exception of the Hulk) and Nick Fury tells them he has a mission for them. It then shows all of the characters one by one and ends with Thor throwing his hammer. Then Says May 2012 on the screen. It does not show the Hulk at all in the trailer just a brief shot of Mark Ruffalo. As I said the trailer was short, showing quick shots of the characters but it looked like Loki was in one of the scenes shown, but overall I cannot wait for next summer. Until then go see Captain America!

Sounds good right.  But wait, before you get excited I just want to refresh everyone that The Avengers is already not a property of Paramount Pictures but rather by Walt Disney Pictures.  Since this is not an after credits scene from Captain America: The First Avenger, the trailer is technically a property by a different studio.  So the question here is if Paramount is fine with the idea of attaching the teaser of The Avengers to the Captain America film.

I hope they will.

Captain America: The First Avenger is set to premiere on July 22 to be distributed by United International Pictures through Solar Entertainment Corp. while  The Avengers will soon assemble on May 4, 2012, to be distributed by Walt Disney Pictures.
