This is how Daniel Radcliffe Sing and Dance in Broadway Without Really Trying

Just saw this video from a friend's Facebook account. The video is from an episode of David Letterman where the cast of "How to Succeed in Business Without really Trying" Musical guests and performs a number on the show. This is my first time to see a performance from this Broadway revival and this is also my first time to see and hear Daniel Radcliffe aka Harry Potter sing.

About the show:  How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying is a musical with music and lyrics by Frank Loesser and book by Abe Burrows, Jack Weinstock, and Willie Gilbert, based on Shepherd Mead's 1952 book of the same name.

The musical opened at the 46th Street Theatre on Broadway in October 1961, running for 1,417 performances.  The show won seven Tony Awards, the New York Drama Critics Circle award, and the 1962 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. In 1967, a film based on the musical was released by United Artists, with many of the original cast recreating their roles. A 1995 revival was mounted at the same theater as the original production (now named the Richard Rodgers Theatre), and ran for 548 performances, and starred Matthew Broderick and Megan Mullally.  A 50th anniversary Broadway revival directed and choreographed by Rob Ashford and starring Daniel Radcliffe and John Larroquette opened on March 27, 2011, at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre.

It is official, Daniel Radcliffe just earned my respect. I know that he has been a good actor and he got a critical rave over his performance on Equus revival years ago and I admire him for that. But a musical is a different story.

Daniel Radcliffe as J Pierrepont  Finch and Tammy Blanchard as Heddy La Rue

with  John Larroquette as J.B. Biggley

I never ever imagined even in my wildest dream that the star of Harry Potter is a certified Triple threat (excels on acting, singing and dancing). Now I know that even after Harry Potter comes to an inevitable end this July, Daniel's career will continue to shine because he is a genuine talent that the entertainment industry must never ignore.

I really just wish I can see this show in Broadway. *cross fingers*
