Disney is Buying Marvel Comics

Yes, its THE WALT DISNEY CO., creator of such box office animated movies of all time like Lion King, Toy Story, Wall-E and the recently box office hit UP is reported to buy the Comic book company Marvel Comics, creators of such comic characters like Spider-man, X-men, Fantastic Four and the Avengers.

According to Yahoo! News, Walt Disney Co. is buying Marvel Entertainment Inc. for $4 billion in cash and stock, bringing such characters as Iron Man and Spider-Man into the family of Mickey Mouse and WALL-E. The deal says, Disney will acquire ownership of 5,000 Marvel comic characters including those who are co-created with Stan Lee.

According to a certain David Joyce, Disney wants to acquire Marvel's Young men market in contrast to Disney's Young women market. With the deal, both parties will have equal share of stocks in both companies Marvel and Disney.

As the news spread on the internet, fans has mixed emotions regarding the merging especially to Marvel Comic readers. We know that Disney movies are family friendly and Marvel comics are more on Mild Violence with a little blood and sex. We comic book fans are afraid that Marvel titles will become so light and loose its essence as a super hero franchise.

For now there are still no final announcements. Let's see if everything will work out. Now I'm just day dreaming of Marvel Ultimate Alliance game with Mickey as hidden unlockable character.

I doubt there will be any crossovers at all. We havent seen any Disny-Pixar crossovers right?.. (Or have I been missing anything?)

But hey! Just in case it happens, I'm hoping it would be the Fantastic Four and the Incredbiles. It would be fun to see how they would try to interact on screen haha.. :)
